Lost In Boston CD Package
Lost in boston, a local acoustic original band, needed a cd package design for their first album titled Retrograde.
Double Front Covers on Outside of Insert
I decided to go with an astronomy theme to match the title of the album. In my concepting, I provided two versions for the cd cover, stylized type zooming through a nebula at warp speed, and an astological star chart which mapped the constellations. The band was split on which cover to choose, so I recommended using both. Having them displayed as the outside front an back covers of the insert. That way the consumer had a choice of covers.
Insert Interior
CD Tray
The CD tray featured a nebula as the back cover of the CD. For the interior of the cd tray behind the disc holder, I created a black hole that sucked in the nebula, to keep with the outerspace theme.
CD Label
The black hole image is carried through to the label on the actual disc, which looks cool as it spins in a disc player with a clear door.
